PEER REVIEW POLICY

Peer Review Policy

Peer Review Policy

The journal applies a rigorous, transparent, and impartial peer review process to ensure the scientific excellence, originality, and relevance of all submitted manuscripts. The review process is conducted in accordance with international standards of scholarly publishing, ethical principles, and rules of academic integrity.

Type of Review

The journal applies a double-blind peer review system:

  • the identity of the authors is not disclosed to the reviewers
  • the identity of the reviewers is not disclosed to the authors

This approach ensures impartiality, objectivity, and fairness in the evaluation of manuscripts.

Manuscript Categorization

During the review process, manuscripts are categorized according to established academic standards. They are classified as follows:

  • Scientific Papers
  • Original scientific paper – presents original research with new scientific contributions.
  • Preliminary communication – a brief presentation of preliminary or partial research results.
  • Review paper – a systematic overview of existing literature with critical evaluation and synthesis.
  • 2. Professional Paper
  • Presents the practical application of theoretical knowledge, methods, and professional solutions relevant to the field.

JEL Classification

All manuscripts in the field of economics and business sciences must include the appropriate JEL classification codes in accordance with the international standards of the Journal of Economic Literature.

Reviewers verify the accuracy and adequacy of the JEL codes, adjust them if necessary, and include them in the review form. The categorization and JEL alignment are proposed by the reviewers and confirmed by the International Editorial Board together with the Editor-in-Chief.

Review Criteria

All manuscripts are evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • originality and scientific contribution
  • alignment with the journal’s aims and scope
  • clarity of the research problem and objectives
  • validity and adequacy of the methodology
  • quality of analysis and interpretation
  • structure, coherence, and technical accuracy
  • correctness of citations and references
  • practical relevance (where applicable)
  • adequacy of JEL classification (for economic papers)

Peer Review Process

  • 1. Initial Editorial Screening:
The manuscript is checked for thematic relevance and compliance with technical requirements. Inadequate submissions may be returned to the authors or rejected.
  • 2. Submission to Reviewers:
Manuscripts are sent to two independent experts in the relevant scientific field.
  • 3. Double-blind Peer Review:
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript anonymously and provide a recommendation: accept, accept with minor revisions, accept with major revisions, or reject. The reviewer completes a form that includes comments, the categorization of the paper, and verification of the JEL classification.
  • 4. Author Revisions:
Authors submit the revised manuscript along with a “Response to Reviewers” document.
  • 5. Review Assessment and Final Decision:
The International Editorial Board and the Editor-in-Chief review the reports and make the final decision on publication.
  • 6. Proofreading and Preparation for Publication:
Accepted manuscripts undergo linguistic and technical editing prior to publication.
